THURLES V WATERPARK
Sunday 26th  April
Clonmel RFC
On Sunday the Thurles U14s travelled to Clonmel to play their second final of the season, fresh off their heroics in Thomond Park where they were crowned Munster Cup Champions.
Thurles started very strong from the kick-off winning possession and going on the attack straight away with big carrys from John Sheehan and Mark Barrett winning a penalty. Mason Butler took a quick tap penalty and crashed over for the first try with Shea Forgarty converting to make it 7-0.
Waterpark fought  hard to get back into the game and came at Thurles with everything they had but great defending form Daniel O'Grady and Eamon Quigley, shut the Park purple patch down and led to a great try from Danny Corcoran who broke free and used his pace to run in from 40 yards which was converted by Killian Cleary 12-0.
By now Thurles took control and from the restart Harry Carroll made a brilliant break and gave a super off load to Shea Forgarty who crashed over and converted his own try 21-0. Thurles secured the kick off and started plugging away at the Park defence again with carries from Foinn loughnane and Alex Macormack who had and outstanding game drove forward , and set Harry Carroll free to score before the half with Forgarty converting to make it 28-0 at the break.
The second half started and a rare mistake ,a knock on gave Park a scrum in the Thurles 22, Park ran at Thurles but strong defending form Sean Ryan ,Corcoran and Adam Macloughlin , stubbed out any threat from the Park backline and Thurles managed to clear their lines. Thurles got into a good attacking position with Tommy Stapleton playing at scrum half ,working his forwards well and fed the ball to Forgarty who moved the ball wide to find the Thurles speedster Daithi Dunne who flew in for a lovely try out wide. The conversion was narrowly missed and this left the score 33-0. Thurles made a few substitutions with Ordhan Hogan Dylan Delahunty and Charlie Finnegan coming on and all playing their part with strong performances. With 5 mins left on the clock it was player of the match Harry Carroll who raced over for his second try to cap an outstanding individual performance with killian Cleary kicking the conversion it finished 40-0. Another memorable performance for this incredible team. In the non Competitive section there was brilliant performances for the boys who ran a near full strength Waterpark 15 very close in the pack strong play from Charlie Finnagan William Morrisey Michèal O'Meara Daniel Cleary Jack Ryan Jake Macormack and barrelling runs from Odhran Hogan accounted themselves very well the backline showed great attacking and defending strength with big plays from Dylan Delahunty Cathel Walsh  Oisin Cleere Connor Guinan Anurin Forgarty Connor Stapleton and our Spanish maestro Louis Ramirez who has left his mark on this amazing group. Well done to the coaches and players who put in unbelievable hard work over the winter months and got got themselves into a very strong position with the cup final left to play next weekend the sky is the limit for fantastic side.
