Sunday October 12th saw the Thurles women's team take on Mallow in the Munster Division 2 cup semi final in thurles. Thurles started the game well with a quick try from debutant winger Emma Coleman, followed by Katie Jones. 
Thurles grew into the game with added pressure through the forwards line out and scrum pressure. Prop Kate Kelly powered over the line from close range just before half time. Half time score 15-0 to Thurles. 

The second half saw Mallow grow into the game and put our girls under pressure in the first 20 minutes scoring early in the second half. Thurles came back with a Try of their own through winger Jayne Dooley, leaving the score 20-7. Mallow came back strong and scored 2 unanswered tries leaving the score 20-19 with 8 minutes to play. 
Thurles showed their strength and character in the closing stages of the game, working well as a team to get up to the Mallow line. Thurles scored the last try of the game through Jayne Dooley. 
Final score 25-19.

Thurles will now play the cup final next week, time and venue to be confirmed.
