The Thurles women's rugby team started their league campaign on Sunday November 2nd at home to a formidable UL bohs side.
The visitors started strongly and unfortunately held the momentum throughout the game. A fast Bohs start left Thurles rattled in the opening half, leading to Thurles looking for both tries and answers to the Bohs attack in the second half. UL bohs had a healthy lead at half time with Thurles left score less.
The second half got under way with a bit more intensity and grit from the Thurles girls. The women in black and white fought for every inch in the second half and were eventually rewarded with a well taken Kate Kelly pick and drive close to the line.
UL Bohs were the better team on the day with some classy and well worked tries. Congratulations to UL bohs and best of luck in the rest of the season.
Training continues for the Thurles team this week with another game next Sunday away to Mallow to look forward too!
