14 East Munster League
Semi-final
Thurles v Clonmel
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Thurles U14s played their East Munster league semi-final in loughtagalla on Sunday morning. The game got off to a nervy start with both sides feeling each other out with all the tension of a semi-final, with a lot of mistakes being made by both sides. About 10 minutes in Thurles were starting to get on top with most of the possession, and after some strong forward play, Thurles broke the deadlock with No.8 Harry Carroll powering his way over the line 5-0 Thurles. After the restart Thurles got back in Possession and kept pushing forward but some very strong defending from Clonmel kept Thurles at bay. It wasn't until the 15th minute of the first half when Thurles outhalf Shea Fogarty put in a brilliant cross field kick to the corner and Thurles winger Tommy Rice won the foot race to touch down in the corner 10-0 Thurles at the break.
In the second half, it was Thurles pressing forward and after sustained  pressure in the Clonmel 22 flanker Eamon Quigley brust over from the back of a ruck, and Shea Forgarty added the extras for a 17-0 lead. Thurles got back down the field from the restart and moved the ball wide, and centre
Sean Ryan cut the Clonmel line in half with a mazy run to score a brilliant try and leave the score 22-0 to Thurles. This was a massive win for the U14s and the now march on to the Final against a very strong Waterpark team. Best of luck to the players and coaches.Final Score Thurles 22 Clonmel 0
