Tipperary Women v Shannon RFC

Tipperary Women travelled to LIT to play Shannon in the Munster Division 1 Cup. Tipperary only had the bare 15 available due to Covid / injuries. The game kicked off in terrible weather conditions. Tipperary scored early in the first half. Great hands by the backs allowed Brianna Heylmann through for a try. The conversion was missed and Tipperary led 5 - 0. Big carries by the forwards led to scrum half Holly O'Dwyer picking from the ruck to score Tipperary's second try. Megan Callanan duly converted and Tipp led 12-0. After relentless Tipp defending Shannon scored out wide, the conversion was missed and the score was 12-5 at half time. In the second half the weather worsened and both teams fought hard up and down the pitch. Tipperary kicked the ball to touch and the forwards set up a rolling maul. Tipperary were awarded a penalty which was slotted over by Megan Callanan. It was to be the only score of the second half and the game finished 15 - 5 to the Tipperary Women.
