Thurles senior women travelled to Ennis to face their first Munster League match today. Back in the Black & White colours of Thurles this season they played in rough conditions with monsoon type rain. This led to a strong forwards game with lots of scrums.
Gemma Dunican scoring an early try off a scrum. Holly O’Dwyer then ramped up the pressure and caused an error from the Ennis 10 who dropped the ball allowing Holly take advantage with an excellent try.
Ennis upped their game and good play with a pick and run off a line out from the 5 metre, pod of 3 hit our girls and Ennis crossed the line. From the restart, Kaitlin Callanan picked a ball from a ruck and powered 20 metres over their line with 3 Ennis players on her back.
